Rotary Club of Whyalla
Changeover Dinner 2010 -2011

The annual changeover dinner was held at the Watersedge Restaurant.  Invited guests included Honorary Rotarian, Mayor Jim Pollock, his wife Jenny and several members from the Rotary Club of Whyalla Norrie.  President Michele welcomed us to the meeting.  She took this opportunity to thank the members of her Board for their work in the previous year.  Past District Governor Glen Eden gave the reply to the toast to Rotary International.  Assistant Governor Tim Clements was the master of Ceremonies; he did an impression of a bush poet and entertained us with a poem about smiles.  President Michele listed the highlights of the year.  Amongst which was the rebuild of the Catering Van - now referred to as the MCU (the Mobile Catering Unit).  It was indeed and 'auspicious' occasion to see the three main builders, Alistair Stevenson, Soto Stuppos and Brian Moodie receive their degrees from the MCU University, making them Bachelors of the Mobile Catering Unit Construction. The awards for 100% attendance went to Rotarians Jack Odgers and Keith Sichler.

The coveted Paul Harris Fellowship award went to an overwhelmed Rotarian Alistair Stevenson for his work on the rebuild of the MCU.

President Michele then inducted Jack Odgers as our President for the Rotary year 2010-2011.  New President Jack introduced his Board for the year and gave us an indication of his plans for the year.
